PELICAN BAY IN NAPLES

One of the neighborhoods I’m asked about most often is Pelican Bay in North Naples. Just west of PineRidge, Pelican Bay is a private, upscale community populated primarily with retired professionals.

• Pelican Bay comprises 3.4 square miles
• Pelican Bay’s population is 6,346, according to the 2010 census.
• The median age of Pelican Bay residents is significantly higher (71.2 years) than the state of Florida’s median age, which is 41.3 years.
• Pelican Bay’s median household income is $93,192, which is higher than Florida’s median household income of $44,736.
• Home prices in Pelican Bay are 3.5 times higher than the average home value in Florida.

Pelican Bay offers residents a number of amenities including a 25,000 square foot community center that offers social, educational and cultural programs as well as fitness and wellness classes. The community center also features:

• A tennis pro shop
• An art center
• Computer center

Shopping and dining opportunities are just steps away in Pelican Bay. The Waterside Shops are quite popular and house fine dining establishments, casual dining, and retail stores. The Marketplace, in northeast Pelican Bay, also offers restaurants and shops.

Probably the best part of living in Pelican Bay, though,  is the access residents have to three miles of private, white sandy beach and the restaurants that dot the beachfront.

Pelican Bay is home to a number of communities with a range of amenities. 

Homes in Pelican Bay include the estate homes of Bay Colony; villas such as those at Bay Villas or the Beauville community; high-rise buildings including St. Raphael, Stratford and Windsor at Bay Colony and low-rise condos such as Avalon and Laurel Oaks. 

Current prices for Pelican Bay single family homes range from $725,000 to $6,995,000.

Villas and townhouses in Pelican Bay are a bit harder to find. There are currently seven on the market and the prices range from $575,000 to $1,150,000.

If you prefer condo living, prices for Pelican Bay condos, currently on the market, range from $315,000 to $7,750,000.
